Suzy
The Word is Love Co-founder
Born and bred into a family of shoe lovers I became a branded shoe buyer for a famous online shoe brand. I absolutely loved my job and I’d learnt so much about the online industry, building up social media and retail that I couldn’t wait to start my own wedding business.
After a 10 year relationship with Ollie (see below!) – he popped the question on Christmas Day 2013. Only 9 months later, on October 11th 2013, we got married at Styal Lodge in Cheshire, and what a wedding it was! Such creativity, fun and lots of laughter!
Together Ollie and I have a son, Oscar, who is the most happiest, bundle of absolute joy and we are so lucky to have such an amazing, well behaved polite child in our lives! And only a few months ago we had our second child Leila a little sister to Oscar who we have to admit has been giving us some restless nights!
When it came to our own wedding we wanted creative and interesting decorations and with my design experience and Ollie’s amazing craftsmanship we set to work creating our own ‘LOVE’ letters that we’re bigger, better and more stylish!
After planning my wedding for so long I really didn’t want it to end, how do you stop planning, pinning, reading wedding blogs and just stop being part of the most amazing magical industry!? The answer was simple… With our love and passion for weddings we set up The Word Is Love.
Having made everything at our wedding we thought we’d carry on being in our little bubble and making other brides and grooms as happy as we were by inspiring them with fresh, creative and fun wedding styling.

I’m an old Volkswagen fanatic, photography mad and self confessed social media junkie. (In a nut shell!)
I’ve been in the property rentals/sales industry for over 10 years and have seen the boom and the bust. Myself and Suzy have bought and renovated 2 properties and have done a lot of the work ourselves.
After proposing to Suzy on Christmas Day 2013 I became heavily involved in the planning (and building!) of our wedding. It was then that I realised what a fun and happy industry it is to work in.
After our big day had been and gone I steadily became disillusioned with the property industry and I knew I had to make a change. So with the help of Suzy ‘The Word Is Love‘ was born!
I never want to sit still, I love to try new creative ideas, set up new photoshoots and to share them with people on instagram! I love seeing peoples’ reactions when they see our letters and props.
With more and more exciting new props and features in the pipeline I can’t wait to help you create your special day.
